Even MacGyver loved tape...

Hello all it's the 15th and that means it time for another product highlight! Today I am so excited to share another terrifically Torendi product, it's the OPP Tape- Good Luck. I just love the design elements on this tape as well as the fact it's not completely opaque so if you want some background influence peaking through it's a go!

I went with this thought while creating this lo of my son. I framed the smaller pictures with two strips of the tape, you can see the texture of the paper as well as the the raised corner from the pictures, I think its a great touch!  Not to mention it was one of the quickest layouts I've ever created!

This second creation I opted not to have any background influence so I merely affixed the tape to white card stock. I focused on the buildings because I find them so fascinating. I fussy cut for a while to get an ample amount of images to cover a card stock heart.I snuck in a few bears too, just couldn't resist! I am going to miss that striped ribbon as I used it up, it's from the Haute Boxed- Elle Ribbon and it's on Sale!

My final example focused on the airplanes, you get so much tape per roll you can use it to whatever your liking and know there is plenty left for tomorrow so you can B Happy! Well that's all for now I hope you were inspired to try something new and please if you create something that you think will "stick" let us know we'd love to see! Beth

Lost in Translation? *giveaway*

Although I think these rub-ons are too cute for words and know what they say, it dawned on me the other night, that others may not! So I thought that I would give you a run down on the Japanese words found on them so you would be able to use them better on your crafty projects.
First the word Kawaii (since all the rub-ons use it in their title) simply means cute.
Sushi: Most of you know what sushi is, but did you know it has nothing to do with raw fish? It is actually just describing the rice which has been treated with vinegar.

Shoyu: Soy sauce and I can't enjoy my rice or sushi without it!

Tofu: Is popular in American cooking too and of course is bean curd. I think the tofu cube on our A Kawaii Day rub-ons is adorable with his little balloon.

Takoyaki: Fried or baked Octopus, usually in a ball form. Want to make it at home? They sell special pans and automatic makers. Watch a video here, now I'm hungry.

Moshi Moshi: Means "Hello" but mainly when answering the telephone. Here is fun video if you want to know more about the word.

Konnichiwa: Hello and/or Good Afternoon

Arigatou: Thanks, an informal way to say thank you.

Hai: YES!

Eii: (This is supposed to be Iie and it would mean NO! ) Good thing these are top quality vinyl rub ons and easily moveable. *this is currently being corrected and the proper version will be included with all new orders*

Nani? What?

Torendi: Of course you should all know by now that it means TRENDY!

Yatta: "I did it" or a similar exclamation of triumph. You may here Hiro on the show "Heroes" say this a lot.

I hope this little language lesson helped and if you have any other questions please leave a comment below! Would you like to win some of our rub-ons for your crafting collection?! You can see all 4 designs in the store. All you have to do is become a follower, once we hit 150 followers, I will pick one winner to receive the rub-on set of their choice. Good luck and help us spread the word!

For you!

I have been eyeing this stamp set ever since it arrived at Torendi from Japan. I finally found some time to sit down and play with it this weekend.

I created a quick and easy card set using the "for you" stamp and Jillibean Soup papers from the December "Modern Red" kit and some Jillibean Soup Kraft! (If you haven't tired their kraft paper before, you should, it has a WONDERFUL feel to it like no other paper.)
Here is a close up of the stamped image.
Now I am just having a hard time deciding if I want to give this gift set away as a gift, or keep the cards to give to people with gifts! lol
