Rocking out with Mod Podge!! *giveaway*

Thanks for coming back for another Torendi/Mod Podge Rocks Friday!  Sadly it's out last Friday together but I know I am going to continue using Mod Podge in my craft room on a regular basis. Please hop over to the Mod Podge Rocks blog to see what Amy created this week and keep reading here to find out about our giveaway!

Heidi wowed!! me with her work with this months Torendi Kit "Framed Cuteness" and Mod Podge! I honestly want to go digging around for a cassette tape so I can scrap-lift this! Isn't the kawaii tape stamp just too cute and a perfect fit!?

Beth is amazing!  She is always coming up with something so new and creative. In her own words " I used the Mod Podge to make a crafting fruit roll up and embossed using Mod Podge that I dyed with black reinker." Super cool!  She said she would be posting in more detail on her blog!

I followed Beth's lead from this months product focus and made a gift card holder from our coin envelopes, Bam Pop! Popfont 2 and Cosmo Cricket the Boyfriend paper and chipboard.  I used the Paper Mod Podge to glue down and seal the paper.  I sprayed the corner with glimmer mist while the Mod Podge was still wet to make it looks more blended into the project. (for those of you who follow my personal blog...here is another sneak peek at another  E.A.D Designs Stickerz line!!)

Are you still with me?! Good!  Want a chance to win a Mod Podge Starter Pack and some Hurly Burly Fabric!!??  Please leave your comments here and I will announce the winner on Monday. (yes winners have been picked for the other weeks, and their packs are already in the mail)

Thank you so much to Amy and Mod Podge for celebrating National Craft Month with Torendi!  Please go let Amy know how much you enjoyed our month together!  You may even find a special "surprise" coupon code on her blog. ;)

Coin Envelope Thank Yous

Hello Torendi Setters! How was your weekend? Mine was busy up until the last hour. Lots of emails, lots of phone calls, lots of laundry, lots of packing, lots to-do!

However, I did find time to make these Kraft Coin Envelope Thank Yous for my boys' teachers! These kraft coin envelopes from Torendi are decorated on both sides and I created a little tag insert that has a picture on one side and a thank you on the other!

Do you have any cool ideas for using these Kraft Coin Envelopes?

Materials are all from Torendi (unless otherwise noted):

May I have the Envelope please...

No, this isn't the Oscar's. It is however time for Torendi's Product Highlight! This month we'd like to give special attention  Kraft Coin Envelopes.

These babies are very affordable and easy to doll up! I have two examples to share and I'll start with a layout of my son on his first day of Preschool:

I had several small pictures that I wanted for the layout with out overcrowding so I utilized the envelopes to create some mini flip pages. Here are some details:

In side the envelopes I slipped in some memorabilia; he attempted to write his name its so cute!

The Kraft Coin Envelopes are perfect for gift card  or a gift of cash. I can't bear the thought of just handing either one of these over in a mundane package so creating a purse came to mind. Torendi has so many great papers and embellishments this was a blast to make!

I am really loving how this came out! I can't wait to find someone to give this to! I wished there were more hours in a day because I still want to create a tag book with these or fold them down the middle a stitch together for a mini album. Well that just about wraps it up.Thanks for stopping by and don't be afraid to push the envelope! Beth aka BR-T

Mod Podge Rocks Friday!

Hi everyone, welcome back to another Mod Podge Rocks Friday!
Wasn't Tiff's canvas just adorable last week?  I hope everyone has been enjoying the post over at Amy's blog too! This week it's my turn (Jenn) to share a Mod Podge project with you.  I find myself saving all kinds of jars, cardboard, and other items that I think would be great to upcycle, so I thought that I should actually do that today! I had no idea what I was going to make when I started this project, just that I was going to use this artichoke jar and Mod Podge.

First I picked my paper from the Bam Pop! Volume 3 paper pack and went to work.  I used the Mod Podge to glue it down to the jar lid and also to seal it to the jar after it was on.  I then used the Mod Podge to glue on the American Crafts Ribbon around the edge.  After I did that I decided it would be a cute candy jar for my girls.  I knew the perfect images I wanted to use from the Torendi "A Kawaii Day" Rub-ons. Oh and the little white dots are from the Thickers in our "POP" kit.

Thank for joining us today for some Mod Podge fun!  Don't forget that we will be doing a weekly giveaway for a Mod Podge Starter pack! So leave a comment and check out Amy's blog to win this!

Here's my (it's Tiff, BWT) Mod Podge/Torendi Mash-up:

For my canvas project, imagine, I incorporated many fun techniques that I learned from Claudine Hellmuth at her CHA workshop! And, I finished the canvas and the chipboard clouds with Sparkle Mod Podge, which is included in the weekly giveaway!

Materials:

  • Large Rectangular Canvas

  • Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints: Classic Teal, Gesso, Glossy Multi-Medium, Extra-time

  • Claudine Hellmuth Sticky-back Canvas

  • Cosmo Cricket Joy Ride 6x6 pad and chipboard

  • Sparkle Mod Podge

  • Zip Dry and Foam Tape

  • Ribbons and Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher

  • Ranger Mane Comb (for the swirled texture)

Techniques:

  1. Transfer onto back of Sticky-Back Canvas-peel backing off sticky-back canvas, burnish scrapbook paper using scraper, heavily mist, and rub paper off revealing image

  2. Extra Time Faux Paste Paper- Apply a thick coat of gesso to canvas, use comb to create texture, and dry. Then using 3:1 Extra Time and Paint, apply over dry canvas.

  3. Mod Podge Sparkle Finish- When step 2 is completely dry, apply thin coat of Mod Podge Sparkle to entire canvas and chipboard clouds.

  4. Ribbon Tags- Fold ribbon in half, place behind photo, and staple in place.

The Torendi Setters will be posting Torendi projects using Mod Podge throughout the month, so be sure to check them out!
